Ever to Be, Kindred Spirits!
This my friends, is a special post all about my very own kindred spirit, bosom buddy, and twin – Lindsey Shannon. Also, a bit of an introduction post as I talked her into making a blog… 🙂
“Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It’s splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world.” ~ Anne of Green Gables, Page 169
Physically we’re not twins per se, however, in many other ways we are. It’s scary how much we’re alike. We met four years ago in Grade 11 (crazy to think it’s only been that long!), in our parenting class. That year we had a field trip to our local mall, where we were told to research prices on baby items, a scavenger hunt of sorts. We started talking and the rest is history. At that time I had no idea we’d still be friends by now. She was just this poofy haired girl sitting in front of me, and I was this weird girl behind her. Who woulda thunk we would end up friends?! In all seriousness, I’m so glad I’ve met her, where would I be without her? She is such a strong women, and has helped me in many ways. She’s one of those friends you can go to with anything, and she’ll always be there. Our personalities are so much alike, we’re basically twin sisters separated at birth. (The funny thing is that recently my dad has started referring to her as my sister. – is there something we don’t know?!) We freak each other out often by reading each other’s minds, saying the same thing at the exact same time, and finishing each other’s sentences. We’ve both gone through some pretty tough times (with each other and without) and it’s clearly made us stronger. We share a love for musicals/plays, silly Lesley Gore songs, oldies, Amish novels (or anything Amish for that matter!), Anne of Green Gables, lists, art, journalling, scrapbooking, crafts, buttons, bows, ribbons, and being creative in general!
Lindsey is the ultimate ray of sunshine!! She’s the most optimistic person I know. Her smile is contagious, and so is her laugh – it’s quite hard for us not to be smiling or laughing when we’re together. We have many moments that are just unexplainable and would be a tad bit embarrassing to even try to explain. (aka the cat jumped over the moon.) Hours pass like seconds with us – so whenever we get together we try to make it last, but sadly, time is never on our side! We somehow never get tired of each other. Proof? Our recent trip to Prince Edward Island together, 24 hour road trip, 5 days on the island, 8 days in total together. Pretty good I’d say? No fights, all smiles. Except for the occasional grumpiness of being cooped up in a van for numerous hours, but that’s to be expected! In fact, we actually missed each other minutes after we arrived back home. Therefore, I say we move in together. That’d be the real test.. haha. I’m sure we’d pass with flying colours! And that’s that! Hope you enjoyed reading about my bosom buddy. 🙂
Tell me about your kindred spirit, twin, bosom buddy, etc? 🙂

Awww you two ladies are so nice and cute.
Lately I try to avoid being dramatic, but sadly I don’t have a kindred spirit, neither a twin or bosom buddy… I used to have one, my lovely friend Paulina. Then she got married with a **** hehe. Then, she died in a car accident in 2008.
Then I met a really nice girl, who became my best friend but a few months ago she became weird with me and recently we stopped talking, and there’s no going back on that as she insulted me in many ways *shrugs*
As I said, I hate to complain… but that’s my story.
I don’t have much friends… I have 2 “brothers” my friend Javier and my friend Andrés, with whom I chat everyday. But they are boys lol.
I hope I can find a twin someday.
Reading this was really beautiful. I’m smiling right now and full of hope.
🙂
*hugs*
Awwe, why thanks! You’re pretty nice yourself!
I hope you find a kindred spirit soon – everyone should have one! That’s too bad about your friend, sorry to hear that! That’s tough about the friend insulting you, who needs enemies when you got friends like that eh? That’s great about your brothers – I have a younger one, which I hardly ever see unfortunately 🙁 I found a couple other “twins” online through my blog, it’s crazy finding people with the same interests! Good luck! (:
Ahh, that’s so sweet! Glad I could make you smile and give ya hope! <3
