Me in 5 Characters
Miss Honey, Wendy Darling, Anne of Green Gables, Jessica Day, and Jo Stockton.
All of these characters have impacted me in a few ways. Some, I love their characteristics, humour, grace, kindness, imagination, and overall quirkiness. I’ll explain why I chose each one, so – read on!
Miss Honey for the reason being she was my high school role model – I wanted to be her when I grew up and even wrote in my yearbook that I’d be the real Miss Honey or something along those lines… I went to my local university in hopes of becoming a teacher but that didn’t work out. She taught me that approaching everything and everyone with kindness is important. Just because something hasn’t gone your way, or someone has been nasty doesn’t mean you should stoop to their level. Treat everyone how you wish to be treated yourself!
Wendy Darling. Ahhh. I loved her in Peter Pan – while I would probably never have gone with Pan to Neverland (I don’t trust men in leotards!) I appreciated her character. She taught me that I should always strive to bring the best out in people, and to embrace family.
Anne of Green Gables is an amazing character and for that I’m grateful to Lucy Maud Montgomery!! Anne taught me multiple things… life is more enchanting when we use our imagination. To celebrate our friendships and find that bosom buddy! Be open to learning something new. Appreciate the small things in life. Be optimistic. Daydream and come up with new ambitions! You’re far more capable than you believe yourself to be… your story can inspire others. And, lastly… there’s always new beginnings and opportunities for growth around the corner.
Jessica Day/Zooey Deschanel. From the show New Girl – boy, do I sure love her. Both the actress and her character! She is simply quirky, fun, and sweet. She’s always willing to look at the bright side of any situation. But at the same time, she’s not afraid to be herself, even if it means that it sets her apart from the group or causes rifts. Other things include: Polka dots are life, singing is always appropriate, it’s okay to figure things out in your thirties, how to be optimistic even though love is hard, to take risks, be there for your people, always. Your best friend is oh so important, and finally… to know, love and be yourself.
Lastly, I love Audrey Hepburn and have taken a few quizzes prior to writing this post. The character I always got without fail was…
Jo Stockton from Funny Face. In the film she shows that it is possible to be smart and independent and, at the same time, be feminine. It’s okay to have your own ideas about things and uses the system to your advantage. Also, she teaches that in order to achieve what you want, you need to work hard. Lastly, to be independent and stand on your own feet.
