Blogging Nostalgia Tag!
Izzy Mathis and Ming Qian came up with this lovely tag, and I’m oh so excited to do it! Enjoy!
Rules:
1. Insert the Blogging Nostalgia banner in your blog post.
2. Thank the person who nominated you and link their responses.
3. Answer the nine questions in the blogging tag. You do not have to come up with more questions.
4. Nominate up to ten bloggers, don’t stress if you can’t come up with ten names.
5. Notify the nominees through any channel that is convenient for you. (ie: email, Twitter, Facebook, blog comments, etc.)
6. List the rules on your blog post preferably before you attempt the blogging tag.
7. You are not required to use the words “blogging nostalgia tag” in your blog post title or URL slug. We understand that some bloggers will want to optimize this blogging tag for SEO. Therefore a brief mention in the body text will be sufficient.
Introduce yourself and share three fun facts about you:
Hi!! I’m Natalie Brooke or Natalaylay as my friends call me. I’m a 33 year old woman living in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. I’m passionate about many things such as: interior design, interning, learning, planners, anything vintage, fashion illustration, being an entrepreneur, and much more!
Three fun facts about ME:
- I’ve been blogging on and off for 10+ years now. At least, that’s how old my blog is!
- I never used to be able to watch subtitled shows but once I found KDramas that changed!
- I’m a self proclaimed social media/techy queen!! Trust me…
What was your first blog platform, and do you still remember your blog name?
WordPress was my first blog platform and I’ve pretty much stayed here. My blog name never changed.
Why did you start blogging?
I created my blog in 2010 – October 7th to be exact! I started blogging as a way of journaling… I needed an outlet and because of my love for the internet and all things techy I started Musings of a Brunette! And, the rest is history!!
What is your favourite part about blogging?
My favourite part about blogging is the community and how easy it is to find like minded bloggers! However, I do miss the simplicity of blogging back in 2010… it was a whole different era!
What do you blog about, and why did you choose those topics? Is your blog related to your field of study? Why or why not?
I mainly blog about Lifestyle. But, I’d like to say I blog about everything and anything… I choose these topics because I’m a hot mess and am a woman of many hats. As an entrepreneur, it is related to my field of study because I am able to freely express my creativity on here in hopes of monetizing it one day!
If you could pick any blog niche, without considering web traffic or monetization potential, what would it be?
Since I blog about everything and anything already this is nearly impossible to answer! If you have any ideas of what I could blog about let me know?
Share a fun blogging memory with us.
When I was approached by a PR for the brand Sorel and did a 12 days of Bootmas series. It was so much fun!! I’m looking forward to more collabs and working with other brands.
Another memory is doing my internship diaries for my internship with Jennifer Lilya. This was one of the most fun experiences of my life and I’m so thankful.
If you could start over, what would you do differently?
I would have started earlier and been way more consistent with my blog. I also would have renewed my domain a long time ago, instead of waiting till now. This would have really helped in the long run!
Finally, is there a blogger who inspires you? Name the first blogger you think of and your favourite three blog posts from him or her. Do not overthink this question, we’re not playing favourites here!
Elsie and Emma from A Beautiful Mess. Back when they had their old seperate blogs I followed them both. I even bought one of their dresses when they had their clothing line. I bought the Pumpkin Pie Dress which was a gorgeous orange velvet *swoon*
Back in the day, they inspired me because they too – blogged about everything and anything! I was always so excited when they’d share a new post.
Here are my favourite posts:
Velvet and Sparkles – I wish I would have bought this coulour or the blue velvet too!
Glitter Letter Keychain DIY – I’ve always wanted to try resin diy’s and this is beautiful!!
Elsie’s Office Tour – I love a good before and after, and this is absolutely beautiful.
And of course –
The Pumpkin Pie Dress – Here it is in all it’s glory – isn’t it absolutely gorgeous?!
I nominate whoever wants to participate! Have fun!
