Exciting ‘Ber’ Months: Embracing Fall and Spring as a September Baby

Hi! Natalie Brooke here. With another month over, we’re closer to the “ber” months!! Which excites me immensely. I’m looking forward to the fall weather so much for many reasons. The colours, the fashion and the fact that my house doesn’t currently have a working air-conditioning unit. Ugh. I’ve got an AC in my window but still, my door warps and sticks when it’s really hot, and it’s just uncomfortable.

Which means I’ll be in my room or at the library ALL summer, if they don’t get their butts in order and fix the darn thing! Any tips for staying cool? Actually, wait! I’m the writer here so let me get back to you on that subject! Might be another blog post…

Did June go by fast for you? For me, I guess it did? But I look forward to summer being over each and every year because I’m a September baby (when is your birthday?) and I enjoy Fall, and Spring more as far as seasons go… There’s just something about them. For Spring, it’s the imagery of new-life through tiny little buds blooming everywhere! For Fall, it’s the opposite where things die off. BUT, each and every year they become new. In my opinion, there’s so much beauty in that.

Here are a couple bible verses that convey this.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 (NIV)

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

  2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

What did your June look like? Mine, went pretty well. Let me get my Planner so I don’t miss anything!

I had a Family BBQ on the first which was really fun. My family doesn’t get together often, so it was great seeing them! And, food is always a great idea!! Haha. While at my Dad’s I cleaned and organized my old basement apartment. It was, and still is a bit of a hot mess. I also paid my bills – which is my least favourite thing of a new month – because in paying them I feel so discouraged. Prices just keep getting higher and such, but this is a light-hearted post, so let’s move on! One more thing though – Does anyone else make sure they get their money’s worth out of their rent? Haha. I know I sure do!

I completed the first month of my internship which was such an amazing feat! I’m quite proud of myself! I’ll touch more on this in my upcoming internship diaries post. If you haven’t been following along – below are the links to the previous posts!

I had my first 1:1 meeting with Kim the internship coordinator – which also went well. I worked on various social media videos, hung out with my friend I haven’t seen since 2019 – this was an absolutely amazing reunion! After the visit, I relaxed and had a planner session at my local Starbucks.

I worked on some blog posts, and OH! It’s actually been a month since I started blogging again! Wow, time sure flies by! I must be having fun!

We had our second team meeting for Letters Against Depression, which was really good. I spontaneously went out with my friend Shannon a couple times… we get together at the drop of a hat, and we love it that way. How do you and your friends get together?

I had a couple book buddy sessions. I did my Cultivating Creativity: Faux Calligraphy Zoom community event for LAD. Another one is coming up, so make sure to check the link for the information! It was a bit of a flop I mean, learning curve for me… I didn’t know how to share my screen then, but with the help of Kim I now know how!

My dad and I attended a 60th birthday party for a family friend which was really nice – I loved being able to see everyone again!

Then, I got all caught up on my LAD work since the deadline was by the end of the month (I did, in fact – catch up! Yay!) I wrote 15 blog posts in June! They’re all listed below! Feel free to catch up if you missed anyone, and comment if you’d like to give me feedback or have anything to say!

Speaking of the air conditioning in the house, the HVAC guys came to inspect our AC unit on the 27th, and apparently there’s a missing part in the furnace (our unit outside is new too, clocking in at 2022!) so they were just as confused as we are! Also, we’ve noticed the fan comes on outside, so I guess it’ll remain a mystery! Pray that the part comes in soon! Thanks!

Wrapping up the end of the month – I had a Tea Party at the Library with my friends Janet and Yorkie! Do you drink tea? If so what’s your fave kind? Mine is Chai! Yum! I also bought my domain at Hostinger on the 28th! Ahhhh. SO exciting! I edited a super secret project for LAD, and finished some social media for the deadline of the 30th.

And, that’s the scoop!

What did you do in the month of June? Were you as busy as me? Please share, I’d love to hear! I know you did something! 😉
