If We Were Having Coffee: A Coffee Chat.

Introduction:

If we were having coffee these are a few things I would be sharing with you… In my mind, we’re sitting in a small, cosy cafe with soft indie music playing in the background. What are you waiting for? Get your cuppa coffee or iced chai latte (which is what I’m having today!) and get comfy! It will most likely be a long one…

I would start by asking how you have been doing? And, get the small things out of the way so we can dive in deep.

Blogging: My Blogging Journey.

I finally got back into it, thanks to my internship! After a long 9 year hiatus I’m finally inspired again… I even bought my own domain, which is bringing back memories of my first one! I shared my blogging journey in a post and even did an old fashioned tag recently. I’m glad to be back in the blogging world! If you blog, how did you get started, if you don’t – what’s stopping you?

Personal Life: Settling into a New Neighbourhood.

I moved to a Historical side of town in September and then moved down the street in March once the first house sold. I’m settling in quite nicely and love it here. I’m so glad I was able to stay in the neighbourhood as I have a local library nearby which has been my sanctuary ever since I’ve moved here! I found my people and built a community and an amazing support system.

Mental Health: My Journey.

I also am pretty proud of myself for having been mentally stable for over a year now!! It feels really good to be at this point. Things were pretty rough but God got me through it. There’s always hope – don’t give up! PLease talk to someone or a professional if you need help!

Single Life: Settling in.

I’ve settled into the single life and am embracing this season of my life – which is really unusual for me, so I’m also proud of myself here. I’ve just been burned too many times and would rather have God lead me to my future beau instead.

Reading Slump: Eek. Send help?

I’d tell you of how I am facing a sort of reading slump these days – nothing, absolutely nothing, and it feels so wrong as I used to devour books! Ugh – any tips for getting out of a slump? I need my reading mojo back!

Favourite Season: and how I’m already over Summer!

I’m so excited for Fall and so over Summer – it’s just way too muggy and humid here. So uncomfortable – I’m certainly not built for all this heat! So muggy in fact that once I stepped out of the car, my glasses fogged up! Ugh. Spring and Fall are my favourite seasons because they’re the perfect mix of warm/cool weather AND it’s sweater weather. I personally feel that spring and fall fashion is way better than summer fashion. What are your favourite seasons?

Life: Happiness and Contentment!

I’m so happy and content right now in Life. Things are going really, really well and I’m (like I said) proud of myself that I’m doing so well. I’ve truly come a long way, and couldn’t have done it without God, my family and friends, and my new-found support system!

Busyness: Volunteering and Interning!

I’ve also been really busy as of late. With my internship, volunteering at the library, volunteering as a book buddy, and my personal life as well! I’m keeping it all together so far, which is good! What’s on your plate lately?

Family Time: Movies and Shows.

I would share what movies I watched on Wednesdays with my Dad and Grandma. That’s right, we have dinner and a movie together every Wednesday! It’s quite fun, and makes for a lot of memories! Do you have any film recommendations?

I would tell you that I’ve been watching the new series of Doctor Who on Disney Plus+ and share my frustration with how it’s not the same as the other ones. Side note, nine, ten and eleven are my fave doctors – and Rose is my fave companion!

Birthday: The Excitement is Real!

I’m turning 34 this year – September 18th to be exact. I usually celebrate the whole month, so I’m pretty excited! A few opportunities seem to come my way during my birthday month – so I’m also looking forward to see what comes up! When’s your birthday?

If we were having coffee I’d ask:

What you love about where you live? I love living in my city (Windsor, Ontario, Canada!) as it’s quite versatile with a bunch of things to do – if only you look for them! I believe wholeheartedly that there’s always things to do no matter where you live. Where are you from? (if you wish to share!)

If you have any fun summer plans? I don’t so I’d love to live vicariously through yours!

How life has been for you lately? What have you been up to? Any small victories? Anything else to celebrate? I hope you’re all doing well! If you ever need anything comment below or email me!

If you’ve created anything lately? I recently started a collage journal – it’s been on the back burner for a lil bit but I’m hoping to get back into it!

Thanks for listening to me rambling over a cup of coffee. Now it’s your turn. What would you tell me about your life? What have I missed since I’ve been away? Set the scene for me, what would be the beverage of your choice? What does the coffee shop look like?

  1. I enjoyed reading your blog on my break at the halfway point of my bike ride😊

  2. I enjoyed getting to know a little about you chatting over coffee. I’ve been blogging for 3 years now and have learned very quickly that blogging is not as easy as I originally thought it would be. I love that you volunteer at a library as a book buddy. I volunteer at a local horse rescue which is like therapy for me. What really stood out to me was how you make it a point to spend time with your dad and grandmother weekly. As a mom grandmother, I can’t tell you how much this probably means to both your dad and grandmother. Have a beautiful day!

    1. Hi Karen!! 👋🏻✨ Sorry for the late reply! Thanks so much for reading! I agree with that, you really have to be disciplined and open to constant learning!! It’s not the same as it was back in 2010… Aww! Thanks! I love it. Oh wow, I too love horses! I’m glad you’ve found somewhere that is peaceful and helps your mental health! I love both my dad and grandmother oh so much so it comes easily! I look forward to every Wednesday! You too! Hope you’re doing well! 🫶🏻✨

  3. Hello to a fellow Ontario resident! What a fun post to get to know you. Advice for getting out of a reading slump is tricky. My main go-to for that is either rereading a favorite or picking a really short book to help get back into the rhythm of reading.

    1. Hi!!! Ahh! Are we neighbours? Haha! Aww, thanks so much! I’d love to get to know you too! Checking your blog out soon! That’s great advice! I’ve been thinking about getting back into an old favourite but never thought of a short one before! Thanks!! Hope you’re doing well! 💖✨

  4. Great to have gotten to know a little bit more about you! I started my blog in April this year after a gap of 6 years! That’s one of my achievements this year. Now the challenge is to be consistent, sustain and grow the blog.
